Sending a file with HTTP

Hi

Is it possible to use HTTP to send a file from a client to a server. I am sure I have seen this on web sites in the past where they have a browse button and then the file selected goes to the server.

Is this correct or did I imagine it. I know all about FTP but my app needs to cover HTTP transfer if it exists.
