I can receive a FAX ok but when I try to send, this is what I get. I have checked the TGAR,NCOS,RPL and all look ok. From the trace it looks like Callpilot is saying it is busy. Can anyone tell wht is wrong and how to fix it? Thanks. The number I am dialing is 96771050. VPIM is 12. That is what showed in the trace.

jlk53...have you look to see how many channels you have
setup for faxes on the callpilot?you said you looked at
tgar, ncos you did that on both the callpilot agents and
the phantom dns as well?

no problems only solutions

strmwalker...I have 2 Fax Channels(are these used to send the faxes. If so, I am not sure how to check them). I have checked both agents and phantom DN's and all seems ok. If I try to send to a Mailbox on the system , it also fails. I get 12Mbox@call....... in my trace. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am stuck. Thanks.

This appears to be the failure. Any thoughts why?

jlk53..is your network blocking the telnet port 25

no problems only solutions

strmwalker

Strmwalker....Tried to telnet to port 25 and get same error as when dialing.

421 CALLPILOT(192.168.1.25) I am busy. Try again later...
Connection to host lost

What do I do next? Thanks

jlk53....you need to let your network IT/person set it
up to stop blocking port 25 they will know what to do.

no problems only solutions

strmwalker

strmwalker... the port I am getting the message from is Callpilot(TLAN 10.160.1.68). On customer network, I am able to send out thru port 25 with no issues. The 421 message is coming from Callpilot. The other IP the message references(192.168.1.25) is the ELAN address for callpilot.
Thoughts?

jlk53..are you sure the the customer is not blocking callpilot,if callpilot cannot send to the network you
will get the error from callpilot

no problems only solutions

strmwalker

Customer says that they are not blocking Callpilot. I can get to Callpilot Manager over their network. Anything else you can think of that I might try. Thanks

jlk53...sorry i should have had you to look at your
rpl list thats is restricted permission list make sure
you are block there, you have to give callpilot permission
to dial out certain numbers because callpilot comes
from nortel locked down so it can't be hacked.

no problems only solutions

strmwalker...I do have the RPL set up but you got me looking. Under Messaging/security Admin, the Global RPL for thru dial was set to "on switch". I changed it to "long distance 1(which I have allowed 91,92,93,etc)". I have ESN programmed on the switch with AC1=9. My question is "In my RPL for LD1, do I put in for allowed codes 91,92,93etc.. or just 1,2,3,etc. In my mailbox class, I have the RPL set to "long distance 1". Under the SDN for "fax express messaging" for that particular DN, outcalling is "National".
How does that look? Thanks for sticking with me.

jlk53..did let the fax go out?

no problems only solutions

strmwalker

strmwalker...do I have to include the access code in the restriction allowed. ex 91,92,etc or do I just put in 1,2,3,etc. Thanks

jlk53...if you are dial outside pbx then you will have to
allow 9 plus then number you want to let dial.

no problems only solutions

strmwalker

strmwalker...... I am close. I had to check the SMTP sec urity box under messaging. I can now fax within the PBX. When I try to send a fax off the PBX, I get a reply(delivery report) in the inbox saying that says "success" but I do not receive the fax on the fax machine. If I go into the mailbox thru the phone and forward it that way, the fax machine receives it ok so I know that the Callpilot ports are working fine..

Any thoughts as to why I cannot fax from the desktop. That is the only piece left.
