We recently updated from GW5.5 to 6.0 (SP1). Clients Win2k.
Now on some PC's the user gets prompted to choose a mail profile every time he uses the send-to feature within an office application. Defining a default profile doesn't help.
We reinstalled Windows Messaging, then GW Client, no success. Created a new mail profile to no avail.
Although there is only one profile available, it must be manually chosen. There is no MAPI Error, just this boring pop-up window.
50 out of 60 PC'2 work fine.

What can we do to get rid of this popup window?
I guess it's a registry key, but I can't figure out which one.

any hint is appreciated.

When you get that popup message to choose profile, there is an OPTION button. In there you can turn on the Set as Default option and turn off the Show Logon Screens for all information services. That worked for me.

Yes, I know. Unfortunately, that did not make any difference.

Search the registry for the Profile name you wish to get rid of and delete it. Removing Windows Messaging does not get rid of these profiles. If only one profile exist you should not be prompted.
