Send Params to CGI

If I wanted to send parameters to a cgi script as opposed to submitting a form how would you do it?

Ie/ what does the url look like based on the form action when the user submits a form?

http://www.wherever.com/cgi-bin/script.cgi?parm1=x&param2=1

or something like that?

If the form is submit with GET you will see

http://www.wherever.com/cgi-bin/script.cgi?parm1=x&m2=1

& (ampersand) not ¶ between values

If the form is submit with POST you won't see anything after the URL - i.e. submitted data is invisible (more secure)

http://www.wherever.com/cgi-bin/script.cgi

GET is stored as $ENV{'QUERY_STRING'}

POST is stored as $ENV{'CONTENT_LENGTH'}
