How do you send a message to another user on the network?
I learned this in class, but can't remember.
Thanks for your help!!

Best way is to bust out to a command prompt, and type:

NET SEND <username> <message>

Quick and easy...:)

You can also go to server manager and choose computer/send message

Keep in mind that if you are sending messages to win 95/98 machines, you will need to have WinPopup installed and running on each client in order for it to receive the message.

Folks, does anyone know, how to send messages from the server to UNIX clients?

Thanks.

If you're using NT workstations make sure the Messenger service is running or they won't receive NET SEnd messages.

Check to see how many characters you can send with the above solutions, I think it is 128 characters so make those messages short and pithy!
