I have a database that is all code and runs via windows scheduler. It is simply coping files to a share on another machine. (irrelevient to the need but more background music). The problem is sometimes the share gets removed from the folder structure and then the db can not copy files and logs "bad command/file name". I want to create something that will send a communication to a user should this happen so that the share can be corrected. I can not use outlook becasue it is an unmanned machine. I was thinking of something like a whiteboard to hit a specified user logged into their machine. On Novell there was a way to "whiteboard" other users very similiar to messenging. Does anyone have any ideas?

Have a look at the net send commands. Allows you to send a message to a certain users.
