Send Error Message but messages seem to be sent

Hi, I have a user that utilizes an Outlook account (pop3/smtp) and she receives an error message every time she attempts a send/receive in Outlook XP, but the emails seem to be sent out anyway. I have received the messages even though she received message they were not sent.

! Task 'mail account - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F): 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem conintues, contact your server administrator or Internet Service Provider (ISP). The server responded: ? 1 too many syntax or protocol erros
