Greetings,

I am quite new at this so please forgive my ignorance ahead of time. I have tried to read up, but I have seen conflicting advice and I am seeking a definitive answer.

I have successfully configured ISA 2004 to work as a web proxy. I have configured the clients to use ISA via ie (Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings).

Now that this is done, I want to force the clients to use the ISA server for all incoming/outgoing traffic (ssh, AIM, Anti virus updates, etc). How would I do this? Would I have to install the firewall client on all the ISA clients? Would I have to configure the network connections on the network connections to use ISA as the default gateway?

One of the clients will also b a domain controller. We have had to use IPSec to lockdown the server rather than the windows firewall because of latency issues. If I have to install the firewall client on the domain controller, will that cause latency problems?

Pretty much what my problem boils down to is how to get the clients to point to the ISA server for all their incoming/outgoing traffic.

thnx

You are right.

Configure ISA LAN IP address as default gateway and install firewall client as well.

I can't undertand what you want to say with "We have had to use IPSec to lockdown the server rather than the windows firewall because of latency issues"

Good luck
