i want to place a graphic on my page so that when it's clicked it will open a normal message box with a prewritten subject and message. all the visitor has to do is use his/her address book to fill in recipients - kind of like a glorified HTML 'mailto' link? any helpers appreciated.

thanks,
Pete

Why not use a mailto link?

<a href=&quot;mailto:me@mydomain.com?subject=mysubject&quot;>

Nick, thanks for your answer. what you suggested would be fine and it does work, but it only incudes a predefined subject and i need to also include a prewritten message in the actual message body, below the subject. can you help?
thanks,
Pete

Sorry, I missed the part of your message that said you needed to also include message text. In that case, the only way I can think of to accomplish this is to send the email from the server.

:)I Sorry Nick, but you can write
<a href=&quot;mailto:me@mydomain.com?subject=mysubject&body=mybody&quot;>
and it will work with most client/mailer pairs. [sig]<p>Michael Dubner<br>Brainbench MVP/HTML+JavaScript<br>
