I get a semaphore timeout period has expired when verifying a remote agent backup. I'm using veritas Backup exec for for NT and Win2k v8.5 with a Sony AIT drive. I don't think the driver is at fault as an update hasn't fixed the problem. I found an article on Veritas' site which gave a link to another article about verifying on a remote machine but it's a dead link (It's always the way!)

Hi James,

How to resolve SCSI bus timeouts

That should do the trick, Have a look in your event viewer of the media server. You will probably have ID 9, 11 or 15.
These will be in the system log.

I did a search on the Microsoft site for the above ID's and found updating my driver and changing my scsi controller settings, fixed the issue. The above technote should cover it.

Let me know how you go.

Bobafet.
