self replicating website

I would like to create self replicating, or personalized sites based on the original URl hit at the website...for instance

http://www.mydomain.com/bob

would redirect to

http://www.mydomain.com/index.html

and Bob's info would now fill in various variables on that page. It could even redirect to mydomain.com/index.html?bob so that request.querystring could be thrown in and pick up Bob and use him in a stored procedure to pull his name and address and other sundry DB fields.

Lemme know if it unclear and I will try to explain better.

p.s. we are using win2k and sql

the replicated website could also be Bob.mydomain.com if that is easier.
