Self maintainer

I have a CS1000 on 5.5 and was wondering does anyone self maintain their system? Also, can you buy PASS from Avaya as a self maintainer?

Does Avaya sell and deliver Partner Assurance Support Services directly to end customers?

No, Partner Assurance Support Services is a Co-Delivery service, meaning it is provided to Avaya Partners to enable their service delivery to end customers. Express services are available for delivery to end-customers, though are resold to end customers by Avaya partners. Further information on Express services is available on the Partner Portal at

I know of several customer that maintain their own system, it seems to be hit/miss with them...can become quite pricey when something goes wrong the it can't be worked out internally.

If you self maintain, just hope you have sufficient depth of knowledge and spare parts to get yourself out of most sticky situations. Otherwise, the waiting game for a vendor to help you out on a time & material basis can be costly in terms of lost productivity, sales/revenue and the vendor's final bill.
