I have a customer who needs to add a selector code option to the AA. They need to set it up so that when a caller chooses a certain selector code it trasnfers to a specified outside number...

can someone help me with how to set this up?

What voice mail are you using, which release of ACS are you using, and do you have Centrex service from the phone company?

Partner VS means nothing without the release I am afraid R1 to R5 are so different in features that it needs the version.

You can test centrex by having a call and pressing feature 03, if you get a new dial tone you are good.

sorry, Partner VS R3 is the voicemail

assuming they have centrex - how would i set this up?

assuming they dont have centrex, is there another way?

thanks for the help!!!

sorry VS R3 is a no go for centrex transfer from the Auto Attendant as far as I remember. If you would have the feature you would go into the auto att and change a selectorcode to the feature centrex transfer but it will ont offer you that if it doesn't have it.
You would need to go to a Partner messaging now to get the feature as I doubt you want to replace the VS with another VS.

Thanks....

is there any other way around it, not having that centrex transfer? i.e. forward to a phone that forwards out, etc...?

with the R6 you can remote forward calls from an extension (enable via system programming #322 then forward the ext to the outside number)but it will tie up 2 lines for the duration of the call

Just "hookflashing" the line is no indication you have Centrex, because 3-way calling uses the same functionality! Unless you check with your service provider, the only way to verify this, is attempting to actually complete a call transfer to another number, and see if it drops when you hangup your end or the call is completed.

Some providers offer a feature called "Call Transfer Disconnect", which is added on a per-line basis. This is usually cheaper than Centrex, where offered or when you only have one line.

oops
we never get one without the other feature so I guess it is sold separately too.
Sorry guy didn't want to tell you bad information. You need then to try and forward the call via centrez transfer to be sure.
THanks Syquest for the catch.
