Can I apply a unique policy to different collections in SMS2003?

Eccentially, I would like to create a Remote Access Collection, where only the resources within that collection will have the Remote Access tools enabled.

All the other collection should maintain their original default policy that would not include Remote control agent activation. (Disabled)

I do not think so as these settings mentioned are per Site :(

Cheers,
Chris

I aggree. These are site wide rules. To accomplish this, you would have to install two seperate SMS sites. However, this isn't too hard and doesn't cost any more money for SMS licenses.

Many people have a situation where they enable remote control for there site but then have an issue with whether to prompt for allowing the remote control sessions. In other words, you have one SMS site that contains servers and workstations. Let say that your company policy says that the help desk must be given access before a remote control session is allowed. There is a setting that the administrator can choose called "Display a message to ask for permission". This then becomes a problem when a server is remote controlled.

This type of scenerio can be overcome by making a special registry edit on the servers. This registry edit will prevent the "ask for users permission" dialog box to be displayed during a remote control.

I can give you the registry edit if this is something that you are trying to accomplish....

-hope this helps..
