Selection of data if they are similar 1

Hi
I'm using CR8.5
I have a report which lists the people who created and then financed a contract. ex :

Contract 1
Paul 08/05/2003 creation
John 09/05/2003 financing

Normally it shouldn't be the same person who does it, so I only want to identify the contracts where the same person did the 2 actions on the contract, ie

Paul 08/05/2003 creation
Paul 09/05/2003 financing

I tried the select expert (only show contracts when user 1 = user 2) and to hide the detail section when the user 1 = user 2 but neither od the solution worked.

Has anybody ever faced such a problem and could help me?

Are the creation and financing records written to a single line in the table, or are they written to two lines with a single "common" contract number?

Since your user 1 = user 2 selection didn't work, I'll assume that they are on two lines with a single "common" contract number.

If that is so, then group the records on the CONTRACT NUMBER.

Make two summaries on the USER ID - one a Count, the second a DistinctCount, and SUPPRESS the section when the USER ID Count = USER ID DistinctCount.

Another alternative is to group on {table.contractno} and then go to report->edit selection formula->group and enter:

distinctcount({table.user},{table.contractno}) = 1

This will return all contracts with only one "user."

If you want to ensure your report only includes contracts that are complete (where the contract has been both created and financed), you might want to add a clause to the above formula:

and count({table.user},{table.contractno}) > 1
