Using Pagemaker 7. Start program. Go to create a new document and select both "new" icon on tool bar and "File/New" from menu. On both occasions it always comes up with "page setup" instead of allowing me to select a template, which is what I want. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, Roadlouse,

To use a template, use File -> Open and either:
select a PageMaker Tempate (*.PMT, *.T65, *.PT6 or PT5)
or:
select a PageMaker document (*.PMD, *.P65, *.PM6 or PM5) and check "open as" copy.

To create a new template, use File -> Save as and select "Save as type: Template"

This does not work. When I select "File/New" I am only given the PAGE SETUP screen which does not allow me to select a template or anything else. The only thing I can select is the paper size, which is not what I want.

Did you READ Johns' reply???

He said to use File>OPEN, not File>NEW.

Then you have to browse to where the templates are stored. On my computer, this is Program Files>Adobe>Pagemaker 7>Templates. Choose one of the categories e.g. Brochures, Posters, Signs, etc and choose one of the *.pmt files there. This will open one of the templates.

Hi, Roadlouse,

> This does not work.

Please re-read what I wrote.

To use a template, use File -> OPEN
