I am looking for some help. We currently have 3 floors with phones on each floor. each floor is assigned a IP address range for the phones in our DHCP server. On the DHCP server it tells the phone the tftp server location to get the config file for the phone. When the phones come to the TFTP server, it is pointed to the directory that has the config file. It is done using tftpd_path_list.dat file located in the /var/tftp directory. I am wanting to change the tftpd_path_list.dat file so that it directs the phone to the correct directory for the config file based on an IP range instead of having to create a line for EACH phone (like 100 phones). so instead of like 192.168.1.1="/var/tftp/companyA", I want the phones in the IP range 192.168.1.1 thru 192.168.1.254="/var/tftp/companyA" and ip range 192.168.2.1 thru 192.168.2.254="/var/tftp/CompanyB"

Is anyone familar with this file??? I tried to google the name and couldnt find it. If you are familar, is there a way to do what Im looking for????

Thanks
Brian

To error is human.....if the machine doesnt work, then KICK IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does the DCHP option that serves up the tftp server address also include the filename?
