Hi,

I am a newbie to Fireworks, so please bear with me. I'm in the process of learning Fireworks.

I've been told that if you choose the Marquee tool and select your image, then hit Edit/Copy, your image is copied to the clipboard for you to access. I am running Fireworks MX and this is not working.

Also, when I do other operations to copy the image to the clipboard like Ctrl + A, I still don't get the image to the clipboard.

The reason I know its not making it to the clipboard is because my previous clipboard contents are preserved when I try to Paste.

Should I be able to Cut/Paste using the Marquee tool, or should I be using something else.

Thanks,

In tools panel, use one of the select tools (black or white arrows) to SELECT object. Blue line appears around it.

Right click object in PNG [any object, text, bitmap, whatever) Drop Down Menu appears. Choose Edit > Copy.

Alternatively, just hit CTRL-C.

[Uing the marquee tool means you have to be exact about it, selecting all area and all pixels -- a short way to insanity.]
