selected rollover state problem

I have a problem in that my (navigation) button with 3 states (normal, over and selected) only shows the selected state if, when clicked, the mouse stays over the button. If I click and quickly move the mouse away before the page has re-loaded, the normal state is shown and not the selected state.

Can anyone suggest anything to get the selected state to show no matter what i do with the mouse after clicking?

did you create the selected state while you were had the over state or normal state? when you create a new state, it duplacates the state you are in, check your web content pallete and see make sure the preview looks the way you want it to stay when selected it sounds like your selected state is a duplicate of your normal state

I've double checked the web content pallete and the states are as required. After a little more investigation it seems that it may have something to do with the fact that I have set the 'selected' state to load when the page loads (so as to indicate which page the user is viewing)...what that 'something' is i'm still not sure!
