Using Dreamweaver MX 2004, and trying to alter an existing page by using a different font. The selected font displays fine in Dreamweaver and also in Browser Preview, but once uploaded to the webhost it appears to go back to the Default Font.

What am I doing wrong?

Is it a standard font?
(Does the problem appear on the development pc or another pc?)
How are you specifying the font?

Did you 'refresh' your possibly cached version of the page?

Well, I'd call it a standard font... It's Cooper Black Italic BT (30pt) and appears in Windows XP's font list as TrueType font. That typeface works fine in, say, a Word document, and also prints out fine.

The problem doesn't appear on the 'development' PC - that displays it correctly in Dreamweaver both on the Design screen and in Browser Preview. It's when I'm trying to view it over the Internet that it doesn't display correctly, on any computer. And yes, I've already tried clearing cached pages - that's unfortunately not the answer I'm afraid...

Not sure what you mean by, "How are you specifying the font?". Can you elucidate...?

Can you post a link? If not, can you post a subset of the page that demonstrates the problem?

How are you specifying the font? I mean are you using font tags, external css, embedded css or inline css? (And whichever of those it is, show us that code, please.)

Sorry for not replying sooner - lost my Internet connection at home, and currently don't have the machine on which the page was being set up. However, it has been suggested to me that the system hosting the relevant webpages has probably got to have that particular font installed in order for the page to use it. Does that make sense? That would appear to me to be the answer in this particular case. What do you think?

No, the pc viewing the page in the browser must have the font installed.
