Hello,

We have a remote site that is part of the Active Directory, but with a less then stellar Internet connection. Due to the connection, they currently copy files from our main server, make changes, then copy them back. (Medium to large drawings/pictures.)

Unfortunately, if they forget to copy back, or someone localy changes the file, they are out of sync. I would like to enable replication but only for certain directories and subfolders. (These folders and subfolders to be replicated will change very frequently) We have tera-bytes of data, and do not wish to replicate or have set for replication all projects.

Is there a way to configure replication for folders on the fly?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hello,

I think you can use DFS for this purpose: server to server Folder replication mechanism.
Or you'd like to replicate Folders from the server to the clients?

There are servers here and remote. Initially we would like theirs to replicate the changes they make to ours. I did look at DFS, but it didn't appear to allow frequent changes to the list to be replicated.

For example, we may have a few thousand project folders, each with 50+ sub folders. We only want to have replication running on the actual folders they need for the few projects the remote site is working on at a given time.
