Whenever I ssh from my redhat8 server to one of our pix firwalls I get the above error message, does anyone have any idea what I need to do to remedy the situation

No I’m getting the following error message

“Selected cipher type 3des is not supported by the server “

Try -c des then. Or try -vvv and look at types of supported ciphers from remote and local host.

-c des seems to work but it warns me not to use it, as it's weaker encryption compare to 3des. I need to do bit more research why the pix firewall is using this version and not the newer encryptions
