Hi Guys.

There is a feature in IE which enable to select value in <SELECT> by pressing key with the first letter of the value.
However, this is not always working, and I observed differences in this behavior between IE5 and IE6.

Could you please detail the logic of this behavior, or give a reference to a useful information?

Thanks!

the letter-select feature that is included with ie is made to be compatible with windows' simmilar system, witch is always functional. problem is, with ie, the programmers have no warning as to what is going to be used in a select box's value and text attributes. everything seems to work fine, except when you run into the boxes with dashes (----) to be used as dividers, or a blank box as a divider, and sometimes when the value attribute differs from the text attribute.

hope that is what you were wondering about. Robert Carpenter
