Hi i am having a problem with a record that stores a text value with the number of numerals required and if there are any required the actual numerals are stored in ( ) ie

"No Numerals"
"Two Numerals (56)"
I am trying to only use the actuall number (in this case 56)
is there any way of doing this?
ie selecting text from between ( ) only

if there are no numerals required then there will be no ( ) in the record only "No Numerals"

Thanks for any help

Here is one formula that will work for you:

Code:
if instr({table.field},"(") > 0 then
    split(replace({table.field},")","("),"(")[2]
