I am currently using Crystal Reports 6.0 (ODBC connection to an sql server). When I run a select statement from my report, it select all 300,000 records and then runs a query on those selected records. How do I just get the results without downloading all that information into my report.

We have had similar problems and the way we have resolved it is by writing a stored procedure and letting SQL server do all the work. once you have constructed your SP you then create you crystal report and base it on that stored procedure it will prompt for any parameters needed by the SP. You will find it will be much faster depending on your sql skills.
