Hi,

We are running PSQL 2000 SP2 on a Netware server and as a client I run PSQL 2000i SP3. I have a table which contains the field "orders". In the Pervasive Control Center (SQL data manager), when I perform a:

SELECT ordernr FROM orders WHERE ordernr='200867.002'

3 other order numbers are returned ! And I'm sure the asked order number exists in the table. Can anybody tell me why? And how can I solve this?

Thanks in advance,

Menno.

Menno: I work for Pervasive in the engineering department. I'd be glad to research this problem for you but I need your database schema. What is the datatype of ordernr and what are the values of the other records which are returned? I'll try to create a sample database with the same format that you have and see if I can duplicate the behavior. Did you see this behavior when you were running the SP2 client to the SP2 server or did it only start occurring when you mixed the versions? Thank you, Debie

Dear Debie,

Thank you very much for your respons. Before writing you this reply I tried the SELECT statement again to refresh my mind for the details. I was confused: it seems to work properly yet! Maybe there is a compatibility problem with the SP2 server part and the SP3 client. We planned to upgrade the server to SP3 in the next 2 weeks. So, maybe we better wait until that.

Another thing: I tried the combined INSERT and SELECT statement and it did not work properly. I visited the Pervasive web-site and figured out that this is a known issue of SP2 and SP3 and will be fixed in the next release. Also more known issue will be fixed in thenext release. Debie can you tell me when this new release will be available? Is it SP4 or Pervasive SQL 2002?

Thanks.
