SELECT SQL Question

Hello,
I have the following table

Plan Product Cost
X A $35
X B $40


I need your help in writing a SQL that would count and display plan (X) once and would add ($35+$40) since it is the same plan but different products.

I appreciate your assitance

I don't see any reason that "group by" shouldn't work:

select plan, sum(cost) from your_table
group by plan
