Select outbound messages take days to reach destination

We recently were made aware of a problem with outbound messages taking 3 to 4 days to reach their destination. This appears to be only happening to some select e-mail addresses that are using Compuserve in the United Kingdom. The recipients say they are getting messages normally from other contacts and that we are the only ones they are having problems with. We have used some personal email accounts not associated with our GroupWise system to see if we can duplicate the problem, but the messages go through without delays.

We are running GW 5.5. When we review the GWIA log we have noticed 450 Host down response messages for Compuserve.com in addition to our domain. We have been able to run a trace route to the compuserve email server without any delays. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
I would contact CompuServe regarding this issue. It sounds like an issue on their side if everything else is working properly.

I contacted CompuServe and it turns out it was a CompuServe issue with CompuServe Classic accounts only.
