i need to select customer ids based on a formula i have in the group footer of my report.

i tried going into the selection expert, under group adding {balance} = 100

but i get an error, the formula cannot be used because it has to be evaluated later.

i did this before and it worked not sure why this is failing now?

Try writing a formula like this under report, edit selection formula, group:

Sum({YourField},{YourGroupingField})=100

Software Sales, Training, Implementation and Support for Exact Macola, eSynergy, and Crystal Reports
askdon@srhconsulting.com

it says the summary/running total field could not be created.

If you're wanting to select some of the detail lines in a group, based on something you won't know till the Group Footer, then Crystal won't allow it.

Only something that you can create in your header can be used.

Could you post the formula? Then it might be clearer what you are trying to do.
