Select non-existent network printer causes spool error

When I select a network printer that the user no longer has, I get a spool error. I'm attempting to delete the printer. Tried in safe mode, get the same result. Time flies when you don't know what you're doing...
 
Would you elaborate on your question? It's not clear exactly what steps you are taking.
