Hey! I've got a contact database where we store information on repeat interactions with customers. My boss wants to see the most recent interaction with each customer, no mater how long ago. The data looks like:

Name Date of Contact
CompanyA 05/10/01
CompanyC 05/09/01
CompanyB 11/10/00
CompanyB 09/10/00
CompanyA 04/10/01
CompanyC 03/10/01
....

I can't filter by a date range, as that would exclude companies. Is there a way to select "most recent?"

Thanks!

You can use the Max function to return the Greatest date from each company. Make a query, add your table, click the SUM button up on the toolbard (like the one in Excel) and you'll see a new line appear in the QBE. Drag down [Name] field set total to "Group By", drag down [Date] field set total to "Max". Run baby run!
