To All,

I wonder if any of you can help me out, I am getting the following error when I run the "mkuser" command, do any of you know why? because I don't

###############################
--> mkuser terry5
Segmentation fault(coredump)
###############################

thanks

Put a "set -x" at the beginning of /usr/lib/security/mkuser.sys (right after the comment block) and run your mkuser command again. Carefull! - you're modifying a system script - make a backup first?

You'll get some idea of what's going on under the covers and what is leading up to the coredump.

HTH,

I thinking is that the user files are corrupted. but I am not 100% sure on that.

You didn't remove or modify /etc/security/.ids ?

HTH,

Nope... that file is still there and unmodifed.

It will be a long list as there are 7500 created id's on this server.

Thanks all, I have managed to fix problem now.

In brief it was to do with the index's we have on the user files, they where corrupted so I ran mkpasswd -c which corrects any user index's errors.

Thanks again.
