Hi, I'm using the software InDesign on a mac platform. When I go to print using the HP designjet 500 the colors do not appear as bright (yellow, reds) as I would like. When I use other printers I do not run into difficulty they appear exactly as I want. I'm not sure if it is a setting that I am missing. Or is it the way I have set up my colors?

Are you running the print trough a rip or are you using the rgb color space of the printer? If you're printing trough a rip, do you have the proper color profile set in the documents?

If you're using cmyk colors and printing in the rgb space the colors will appear washed out. Papers can also have a pretty strong effect.

Usually, with any printer you have to play with the various settings until you get proper color and then save those settings as preset so you can replicate the quality easily.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by "rip". Maybe you could clarify it.
