Hi,
I have 2 sites IP conntected using BCM50. Site A has the external trunk and Site B not. How can i setup the Site B to call outside through the Site A's trunk? Please advise what are the requirements and a helpful push on how to implement it.
If you can call between the 2 already. Your next step is to build a Remote Package for site A and assign it to the inbound IP trunks and the Outbound trunks.
Adding to hawks comment, plus set the restrictions on the voip lines & the PRI lines so they use the same remote package.
Assuming you currently dial a 9 on the BCM with the trunks to seize a trunk, on the BCM without the trunks.....
you'll probably need to add a destination code '9', which uses the voip pool (cannot recall if bloca or blocb - check the voip lines to confirm). Ensure absorb is 0 on the destination code, so it is sent across the voip trunk.
IE when dialling a 9 on the BCM which does NOT have the trunks, remember to send the appropriate leading digit to the voip trunk, it will then be absorbed on BCM with the trunks according to it's destination codes & routes.
Recommend you use BCM monitor->Lines on both the BCMs simultaneously so you can see what digits are being sent.
Also assuming they are both 50 release 3 or later you can
Thanks to all for your helpful posts.
Mr. Raymond, I will do the search, but i dont know the name of that feature i want to get done. From the second post i believe it is remote packaging? I have VoIP trunk keycodes in both places, what other keycodes required for this scenario?
Hawks, Pkellow,
Where will i set the restrictions, at Site A or B? Please give me a glimpse of actions on each site what i have to do.
You have got Voip GW trunks on each switch and a VPN whereby you can ping from one BCM to another ....you now just need to work on getting all the settings correct. Takes a bit of time on your first go but it does sound as though you are headed in the correct direction.
Have you ever been given any programming guides about your BCM phone system?. Nortel will be shutting down their website soon in order to migrate it onto the Avaya support site. Here are some links to download the ITEL guides, which are very useful and easy to follow. I don’t think you need to have Nortel login access to receive them.
Hi all,
With all yours help, i could finish it successfully. Now the Site B can access the site A trunk. The nortel documentation also helped. Now, i would like to know, how do i set the restriction in both ends? In the site B, not all need the dial out access through the destination code i set. Can restriction set on destination code or routing?
