Folks,

I am an experience programmer/data mining/reporting person, who has just been handed the responsibility of handling our Actuate reports ( the old guy just left ). I have written a total of 1 report. :) I am using Actuate version 8. My problem(s) is/are - I am not able to run the report. A series of output parameters comes up - all I believe I know, but one, called dbKey ( I think I can guess on this, but maybe not). So I thought I could hit the data tab and see the SQL that creates the code or perhaps find the area where the parms are defined, but no luck. I put in the parms I think are appropriate and I get an error telling me that "The database alias name or the database name could not be found". One of the senior guys in my group told me to use an Admin id with no password. I am guessing this should work. I really have no clue what to do next. Any ideas, please!?!

On the datastream (properties tab) you can see the sql (Query) and the parameters will look like =:parameter name. In addition if you look at the method tab check the obtainselectstatment
You can add showfactorystatus(ObtainSelectStatement) and the sql will appear in the output viewer.
you can also use setclipboardtext(ObtainSelectStatement) which will copy the sql to the clipboard.
