I am using Crystal 9.0 for one project and need to create a new report that uses Oracle Tables. I do the following steps

File, New, Standard
Create New Connection
Select the odbc on the pc (CMS) as the Datasource
this brings you to a screen where you enter a password. [red]Works at this point[/red]

You then see a box that list the different schemas,
I select on the correct schema and all I can see is functions and views NOT the tables.

If I put it in as a command, then I can retrieve all my data but I don't want to have to modify a command everytime I have a simple change.

The dba's say that since I can retrieve data in oracle sql and use the command function that it is not their issue so I am hoping someone has run into this issue before.
Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Go into file->options->database->data explorer and make sure that "tables" is checked.

Thanks. I had tables checked already. Is there anywhere else I can look?

Check with your DBA and make sure that the user you are signing onto has view rights to tables.

Alternatively, if you install Oracle client on your PC you can then create a tns name connection to your database. This will allow you to use the oracle native driver instead of ODBC. Again your DBA will be ble to set this up.

YOu may have to run Crystal install again to pick up Oracle driver though.

This will then require other users and applications have the same set up in order to view/run report.
