Good morning to all,

I am trying to explain myself as to what it is that I am looking for.

The easiest example for me would be this - Many years ago, I wanted to try and create my own web site, so what I did was a "reverse Engineering " trick and went to a web site and I was able to look at the "Source code", print out the "Source code" for that particular site and study the commands.

Eventually I was able to create my own web site.

Now to the PRESENT:

I want to be able to either 1. go to Openscape Assistant , view a station then find something in Openscape Assistant that would let me "reverse engineer" and see the "source" programming for the station while I am still in Openscape.

2. If this is not possible, then is there a way for me to compare the Openscape Assistant information AND the Command Line information for the same station , side by side.

3. Or just look up a station in Openscape Assistant , THEN go to the Expert Mode and display the same station to show me all of the Ammo commands , or script used to create the station along with any special features and rollover numbers.

The reason I want this is so that I can compare and troubleshoot issues.

Thanks,

Eric

Make a REGEN file in Assistant - Go to Configuration Management/HiPath Inventory Management/RMX Backup/Start RMX Initial Backup

When that file is created you can copy and paste it out.

That 'REGEN' file is a snapshot of the system, it could write a duplicate of the system if needed.

Then you can use that to compare ?

Thanks sbcsu,

I will look into this .

I have a feel for what you are saying, because back in the older versions of 9006 on the old 9751 Model 30s and 80s they have a unix menu system called EMML that had one or two really good advantages but overall was really annoying if you knew what you were doing! In that situation you could use the menu to change a station, for example, and then you could press a function key to acutally see and scroll through what happened behind the scenes - I would use that if I didn't know an AMO to use in command line mode to see which one I needed to use.

With Assitant on the 4000 it is not as easy to see that anymore, but I believe there IS a way you MIGHT be able to do it (don't shoot me if I'm wrong!). The system keeps an audit log that shows every command that was recently executed and by who. If you go down to the menu item in Assistant that says "Session Log" you will see it gives you a list of recent changes made to the system as .prt files. If you click on one of those files it will show you the steps that were executed to do that task.... (or what some idiot tech did to cause the current problem so you can fix it!).

Maybe that will do what you want?
