Hi all,
I accidentally removed my permissions for editing security on a folder in report manager. I can go through sql server management studio and see the folder but when I click on properties of the folder I do not get the options to edit permissions that I do on other folders. My account is an system administrator and on all other folders I have content manager privileges. Any one know how I can restore my security rights to that folder?

Thank you in advance
Jeremy

Log on as the "Administrator" account and re-add yourself. Or get whomever has that account to log in for you and do it that way.

Would that be the administrator account on the server?

Yeah, it should be. It should be something like "{server name}\Adminstrator" or something like that. Do any of the other developers/your manager have an admin account to that folder? As long as they have access to change security, they could add you back as well.

well thats the problem. I accidentally removed our whole group. So the only group that can see the report is users who only have view reports and view folder privileges. I was trying to test something and I thought I added myself individually but apparently did not. I am surprised that as an administrator on the server I cannot fix this at the table level.

Unless you have your own rights, only the true Administrator can make the changes as far as I can tell.
Good luck!

Have to wait till Monday since our database administrator is off today.

Thanks for the help.

D'oh! No problem. Sorry I couldn't help more. I don't see any other way than that to fix it other than deleting and recreating the folder. But again, if you don't have access to the folder, you won't be able to delete it. :p
