Well, I passed, with an 852. Not quite as good as glister. Would really like to know the ones I missed, but that's okay. I'm thinking it was probably the ones I second guessed.

The following is a break down of the books I used to study:

Sybex Security + - ($49.99)
Exam Cram Security + Practice Questions - ($21.99)
Thompson Security + In Depth - ($4.99, got it on one of the back shelves of a book store)
Various free (if you consider all the spam I get free) study guides found around the net.
TCat's Security + Megapack ($59.00)

Glad it's done, now it's on to Linux + and LPIC Junior Administrator....

Outstanding. You'll enjoy studying for the Linux+. The latest revision is cleaned-up quite a bit. We removed a lot of the hardware questions and focused more on security and networking. Don't spend a lot of time worrying about the GUI. The exam is geared more towards the CLI. Grab the exam objectives and just start working down the list.

Thanks. I've been playing with Linux and specifically RedHat Enterprise for about 6 months now (without the GUI). I think that it will help me a lot in both certifications. I've already gotten the exam objectives (already planning ahead), so I think I'm set. Now to make sure I make myself study (it took me 5 months to finally schedule the Security + test).....

Try to grab some other distros also. Just so you don't get too vendor specific. Do lots of installs. I never advise dual boots. that's just asking for trouble and is not addressed in the exam at all.
