I'm using SMS 2003. I've installed the Security Tool and Office Patch Tool and have advertised it to a test pc. I'm trying to verify everything is working properly, but I'm missing the "Software Updates" section when I start Resource Explorer on my Collection and Look in the "Hardware" subsection. I'm trying to follow these steps:
- Verify that the client computers send results.
To do this, in the SMS Administrator console, go to the appropriate collection containing the
test client computer, right-click the collection, select All Tasks, and then select Start
Resource Explorer. In the Resource Explorer, expand Hardware, and then click Software
Updates. View the list of all the inventoried software updates for that client computer.
- Review the log file results to view any errors that occurred during installation. The
installation wizard automatically displays this log.
Like I said, the "Software Updates" section is not listed under Hardware.... Also, I didn't see any log file. Does anyone know the name of the log file and where I can find it?
