Question regarding security...

I'm reviewing GP's security settings.

Does the SA account need rights to all tables, menu items, etc?

thanks,

Omar

why would you want to restrict access on the sa account? Are you worried about IT gaining restricted access? If so, lock the sa password down to a single executive and create administration accounts for users who need "more than the usuall" access.

I wouldn't recommend restricting table access to sa.

and they wonder why they call it Great Pains!

if you ask me, putting sa in the list of userid in Advanced Security is totally wrong. sa is not restrictable as it is the highest built-in security account. check the permission of sa in sql server enterprise mgr, tell me what security restrictions you can do to sa.
