I have sent my printer a number of PDFs to print which he says all contain security settings. However when I look at the Document Security for the files there doesnt appear to be any. Could anyone help me out as to where I am going wrong?

Thanks

Hi, TimPotter,

Sorry, I can't remember the spec of your kit.

Mac or Win?
Which OS version?
Which version of PM and Distiller?
Do you have Acrobat (not reader) installed? Which version?

The quick answer is to make sure you are using the latest update of PM - Pm7.0.1a

I quote:

PM7.0.1a - Issues that are addressed in this update include:

Compatibility
PageMaker 7.0.1a addresses compatibility issues with Adobe Acrobat® 5.0, Acrobat 6.0 Standard, and Acrobat 6.0 Professional.

Security
PageMaker 7.0.1a does not automatically apply Adobe Standard security settings (40-bit RC4) while creating PDF 1.2, PDF 1.3, and PDF 1.4.

and

Use Acrobat to set exactly the security opens you want, though it is possible to choose some via the Joboptions accessible in the PM ExportPDF macro.
