Security Service has hung

The Security Service on our MAILSweeper continually stops shortly after restarting it. We then are unable to restart the service. The AV that it is tied into is Sophos V3.59 at the moment. I have tried all of the suggestions on Sophos's website and Clearswift's site, all fail.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried calling your sales rep? We found they are quick to help you with problems. We love Mailsweeper.

I had the same issue after creating a policy that caused it to stall.
Have you recently added a policy and then the restart of the service failed?

I'm running 4.3 on WIn2000 Server.
I eventually got the service to start after going into Control Panel, Services and disabling all 3 Mailsweeper services, rebooting, reapplying Service Pack 4, restarting, running REGCLEAN, restarting and finally removed Terminal Services.
Then set the Mailsweeper services to start automatically.

After all this I got it restarted..... working fine now but worrying.....
 
Well, that was a while ago! We had other probs even after I fixed the one above. Finally gave up on MailSweeper and got MailMarshal in. Never had any problems, a quick install and much more user friendly.
