Hello,

I am a newbie on Great Plains. My boss have asked me to create a report on security. There is an existing report in advance security by choosing a userclass and toolbar only, that is very close to what my boss wanted.

Is there a way for me to find out how those reports are generated, such as from which tables and fields?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

What version of Great Plains are you running?

Because you mention Toolbar, I will assume v7.5.

The SY_Toolbar_MSTR (SY05200) and SY_Palette_MSTR (SY00200) tables will give you the menu structure.

The majority of the User security is in the SY_Security_Normal_MSTR (SY02000) table and the class is in the SY_Class_Normal_SETP (SY40300) table.

The actual resource IDs can only be read from the dictionary with Dexterity.

Maybe you can use the xml export from Advanced Security and manipulate the output.
