I have what I thought was a secured database. Admin has a password and I created a workgroup for it and created user ids, passwords and assigned groups and permissions. I set-up icons on the desktops to point to the correct db & mdw files and that works fine. But the users have found that they can just start Access and open the database without requiring a signon. I know that Access is not the most secured product around but is there any way to prevent this?>

I'm guessing that you didn't join the .mdw group. From your post, I think you need to redo the security for this database. Here is a link that has some step by steps that are better than anything else I've seen. Read them thru first, and then read each Step thru completely before doing it.
