I was wondering if anyone out there knows of any third party add ins for security. I am using the access security file and donot like it. The problem I have is if there is a corrupt form etc.. and I have to import into a new database the security does not follow. Or maybe there is a way to make the security follow.

Thanks DVannoy

Import your objects and rejoin the work group of your corrupt DB.

I do that it still losses all security. maybe iam doing something wrong.

What i do is, create a new DB. Import all Objects forms etc. Then re-name the new DB to the corrupt DB name. Then join back to the MDW file...am i missing something??

Thats what I do. But yes, sorry, I think you do have to reassign security in the new db. How often does your db get corrupt? I am using Acc 2000 and my db's are always getting corrupted. I just do a compact and repair and this normally fixes the problem (without having to reacreate the db). If i were you, make a backup. Then if a form goes strange ie. cannot open it in form view OR design view, simply import the form from the backup.

Thats what I do. But the problem that i had today was the corrupt form would not let me delete it or rename it..It's a huge pain to add all the security back.

I know. I have had this once or twice and it is a real pain. I assume you are using Acc 2000.
