Are there any added security risks to using FrontPage as a page editor for SP? We are just starting to use SP as a internal web for our company.

Thanks,
SteveMecer

If you don't use FP you will have to use SharePoint designer if you are using V3. I wouldn't know how secure that would be but it'll surely cost you $$ to get SharePoint Designer.

Hello,

Using FP or SharePoint Designer is from a development (developer) point of view not a very good tool. If you modify SPS2003 (WSS V2) you will cause pages to be unghosted and if there will be upgrades or patches done to the system you might have problems.

There are a lot of articles about this ghosting and unghosting issues that is good to read before doing lots of changes. It is very easy that a site (or page) breaks when using FP.

Cheers,
Thomas
