Background: I have set-up a data base with approx. 12 different users. I have two groups, users and admin. I am the only user within the admin group. I used the security wizard to complete the process.

Question: The security features are not showing on the other terminals within the network. The only terminal that requires users to sign in is the one that i was working on. Do I need to go through the whole process for each terminal?

When Access opens, by default, it uses the System.mdw file on the local pc unless you direct it elsewhere......what you'll need to do is place your mdw file on a shared drive, then setup the users with shortcuts that point them to that mdw prior to opening your database.

The shortcut would be:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSACCESS.EXE" /wrkgrp "your shared drive\system.mdw" "your database path\your database.mdb"

We are already on the same network drive with a shortcut on each desktop to the data base file. This is what has me perplexed, the security features do not show on the other terminals even though they are pointing to the same data base file?

In the example shortcut

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSACCESS.EXE" /wrkgrp "your shared drive\system.mdw" "your database path\your database.mdb"

the /wrkgrp switch directs their logon to your specified mdw (your security permissions)file - just giving them a shortcut to your database file, by default allows Access to open a database via the local mdw file on their PC (bypassinig your security settings on your database).
