We have unix (sun & sgi) machines on our network. One of our partner remotely wants to monitor his sun machine in our network. My problem is that once I allow him telnet on one machine in the network my other machines are exposed to him . How can I prevent them doing so assuming I have to give him telnet entry on one of the machines.

If the user only has a valid login on one machine and no superuser account then he won't be able to get to the other machines.
