Security Issue Dev & Prod Servers (User Class)

Hello,
Here's my problem.
I have a cube that the users access thru Upfront. What they see is handled in transformer using the userclass to filter. Works fine. The configuration here is set up so that we have a dev and prod server. We have access manager on the dev server and can control cognos security
on both from there. Also all transformer work is done on the dev server, and only the .mdc file is copied over to prod. I use access manager to create a new user and user class, (on both servers, being careful to make them identical), then make the appropriate changes in transformer. Before creating the cube, I select the update access manager and the update cube options. The cube works
as expected on the dev machine, but the prod version tells me
"Access is denied. The user is not authenticated or the cube does not support any of the user classes."
If I put the new user in an already existing user class it works OK. So it seems to me that only the user class info isn't syncing up. Any suggestions ?? Thanks
